PITY PARTY

Allowing emotions without getting stuck

When emotions take over

A pity party can happen to anyone. Some days feel heavier than others, and it may seem as if everything is working against you.

Because of this, it is natural to feel frustrated, disappointed, or overwhelmed. You might find yourself asking, “Why is this happening to me?”

These moments are part of being human.

Giving space to how you feel

It is important to allow your emotions instead of pushing them away. When something affects you, acknowledging it can help you process what you are experiencing.

At the same time, expressing your feelings—whether through talking, writing, or simply sitting with them—can create a sense of relief.

Because of this, giving yourself space to feel is not a weakness, but a form of awareness.

Recognizing the pattern

However, there is a difference between feeling your emotions and getting stuck in them. A pity party often begins when thoughts repeat themselves and reinforce a sense of powerlessness.

As a result, your perspective may become narrower, making it harder to see beyond the moment.

Recognizing this pattern is the first step toward shifting it.

Letting emotions move through you

One gentle approach is to allow your feelings for a moment, without judgment, and then consciously release them.

You might set aside time to reflect, write down your thoughts, or share them with someone you trust. Afterward, you can choose to let them go.

Because of this, emotions are no longer something you carry with you, but something that moves through you.

A gentle reminder

You are allowed to feel everything.
But you are not meant to stay there.

Feel it.
Acknowledge it.
And gently move forward.

With love,
Gulschen
