EXPRESSING ONESELF: ALLOWING YOUR INNER VOICE TO BE HEARD

Why we hold things inside

Expressing yourself is not always easy. Many times, when something happens, you may not say anything about it. You keep it inside, even when it feels important.

Because of this, emotions and thoughts can build up within you. Not because you choose to hide them, but because it feels safer to stay quiet.

The quiet habit of holding back

Sometimes, you may not even notice that you are holding things in. It becomes a natural response—to move on, to stay silent, or to avoid what feels uncomfortable.

However, what is not expressed does not disappear. It stays present, quietly waiting to be seen and acknowledged.

A gentle return to expression

Expressing yourself does not have to be big or dramatic. It can begin in small, simple ways.

You can start by noticing what you feel.
Then gently allowing it to be there.

From that place, expression can arise naturally—through words, writing, or simply being honest in the moment.

Nothing needs to be forced

You do not need to push yourself to speak or explain everything.

In an Advaita sense, expression is not something you “do”—it is something that flows when there is space. When you stop holding everything in, what is true can naturally come forward.

A gentle reminder

You are allowed to express what you feel.
You do not need to carry everything alone.

And sometimes, simply allowing something to be seen is already enough.
